Our 5 star campsite is 35 minutes from Cherbourg, on the East coast of Cotentin, in the north of La Manche in Normandy. Located along the sea, in the middle of a large cove between Utah Beach and Saint Vaast la Hougue, you will enjoy relaxing holidays at the seaside and nice hiking in the Regional Park of Cotentin and Bessin marshland. In the heart of the landing beaches, the campsite Le Cormoran allows you to go easily to the numerous memorial D-Day sites: Sainte Mère Eglise, Omaha Beach, Arromanches…

GETTING TO THE CAMPSITE AT RAVENOVILLE-PLAGE, NEAR SAINTE-MÈRE-EGLISE
🚗 By car:
- From Sainte-Mère-Eglise: Take the D15 towards Ravenoville. In Ravenoville, turn right and continue for 2 km until you reach the beach. Turn right towards Utah Beach / Camping Le Cormoran. The campsite is 800m ahead on your right.
- From Paris: A13 to Caen then RN13, exit Sainte-Mère-Eglise.
- From Rennes / Mont Saint-Michel: A84 to Saint-Lô, then N174 to Carentan and RN13, exit Sainte-Mère-Eglise.
- From Cherbourg: RN13 towards Caen, exit Sainte-Mère-Eglise.
🚇 By train:
If you prefer the comfort of a train journey, the nearest station is in Carentan, 25 kilometers away.
This stop is on the Paris-Cherbourg line, and the journey takes 2h30.
You will then need to take a taxi to cover the remaining distance.
🚌 By bus:
Line 1 of the Manéo bus network links Saint-Lô to Cherbourg, with stops in Carentan and Sainte-Mère-Eglise.
New bus services from Paris: bus lines have recently opened connecting the capital to Normandy: Ouibus and Flixbus offer Paris-Cherbourg or Paris-Caen routes.
✈️ By plane:
Coming from far away? If you live in the south of France or another European country, it might be easier and more comfortable to travel by plane. Several airports are located nearby:
- Caen Carpiquet (destinations: Bordeaux, Toulouse, London…)
- Rennes Bretagne (destinations: Bordeaux, Marseille, Lyon… and Europe)
- Deauville (destinations: London and others in Europe)
FOR HIKING TRAILS LOVERS
Hikers, cyclists, and horse riders can reach our 5-star campsite by following the hiking trails, particularly the GR®223 route.
- From Carentan: Reach Utah Beach by following the canal leading to the Baie des Veys, then walk along the beach to the campsite.
- From Val-de-Saire: Follow the coastline to Quinéville, then follow the beach and admire the superb “Cabines de Ravenoville,” colorful seaside huts: you are just 500 meters from the campsite!
- From Sainte-Mère-Eglise: Cross our superb typical Normandy landscapes: the bocage and the coastal marshes of the Regional Park. When you reach the sea, you will be just a few steps away from our establishment.
