A motorhome holiday to discover Normandy, from Mont Saint Michel to the D-Day landing beaches
Near Ravenoville, the Cotentin farm-museum plunges you into the daily life of a grass farm from the beginning of the 14th century, where you can taste delicious regional products. Explore villages listed among the most beautiful in France, such as Barfleur or Beuvron en Auge (a village of arts and crafts). The Pays d’Auge is famous for having preserved its traditional character, with its many half-timbered houses typical of Normandy. Embark on a guided tour aboard the Barbey d’Aurevilly II to discover the magnificent landscapes of the Normandy bocage during this river trip in the heart of the Carentan marshes park.
If you are coming from Cabourg or Honfleur, follow the coast to the historic landing sector. You will find many museums and places commemorating the events of June 6, 1944, along your route. For example, visit the Atlantic Wall Museum in Ouistreham, then head towards Port en Bessin in the Omaha Beach sector to discover the Overlord Museum in Colleville-sur-Mer. You can also honor the soldiers from Canada at the Juno Centre in Courseulles sur Mer or admire the remains of the artificial harbor at Arromanches les Bains. Passing Isigny, you enter the Cotentin. Camping Le Cormoran is located in the American Utah Beach sector, where Sainte Mère Eglise and Carentan played an important role during the airborne operations.
