Le Cormoran
CAMPING BY THE SEA IN LA MANCHE FOR A SUPERB HOLIDAY!
Located in the Manche department in Normandy, Le Cormoran is a 5-star family campsite set in a leafy, peaceful setting just 20 metres from the beach. Nestled between the sea and the countryside in the Cotentin region, our campsite is an ideal holiday destination for families, thanks to numerous kids’ play areas and fun activities in July and August.
CAMPING IN THE COTENTIN: A LEAFY SETTING AND A WELCOMING ATMOSPHERE IN LA MANCHE
At the heart of the Cotentin and Bessin Marshes Regional Nature Park, our campsite in the Manche department offers refreshing holidays in this preserved natural setting. As a family, enjoy the simple pleasures among landscapes of hedgerows, moors, and the seaside. Nearby, cows and horses graze in the meadows, cormorants fly overhead to land on the waves, and crabs scuttle along the rocks. A holiday destination perfect for escape and relaxation!
Right in front of the campsite, the fine sandy beach of Ravenoville stretches to the horizon. Indulge in a spot of shore fishing or simply enjoy the sand to build beautiful castles with your children. Located just a stone’s throw from Utah Beach, one of the Normandy D-Day landing beaches, and 9 km from Sainte-Mère-Eglise, an iconic D-Day village, you are at the heart of the museums, remains, and commemoration sites of June 6th.
LE CORMORAN CAMPSITE: A KIDS' PARADISE
At the campsite, children are king and will never run out of entertainment. Our water park features a colorful paddling pool right next to the heated pool for the little ones. Your children can have fun in the warmth of this covered area with water jets.
In July and August, both the main pool and the outdoor paddling pool are heated, offering water games and slides for their enjoyment.
Various children’s play areas are available, featuring: inflatable structures, trampolines, a zip line, climbing frames, a multi-sports pitch… They can also cruise through the campsite aisles behind the wheel of pedal karts.
DISCOVER NORMANDY FROM YOUR SEASIDE CAMPSITE
A peninsula department of Lower Normandy, the Manche region holds many treasures to discover during your stay.
Staying at Le Cormoran campsite, in the Utah Beach sector, you are ideally located to visit the beaches and the many D-Day museums such as the Airborne Museum in Sainte-Mère-Eglise, or to take part in the D-Day festival held every year in June.
Head to the north of the department to explore the Val de Saire. There you will find Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, a charming coastal village from which you can reach Tatihou Island. Stop by Barfleur, voted “most beautiful village in France,” to taste seafood specialties in the flowery and picturesque setting of a small fishing port.
Continue your journey through the Cotentin for a stopover in Cherbourg. Stroll through the streets of its charming town center and visit the Cherbourg umbrella factory or spend the day at La Cité de la Mer! A museum themed around marine exploration, it offers a fun experience for you and your children, featuring aquariums, a submarine tour, and an exhibition on the Titanic.
In the south of the Manche, visit Mont Saint-Michel, its bay, and its abbey. Witness a magnificent natural spectacle during high spring tides when the Mount, surrounded once again by water, becomes an island.
